Gameplay Breakdown
Audio cues matter in Robot Fish. Sound effects signal incoming attacks, successful hits, and environmental hazards. Playing with sound gives you information the visuals alone do not provide.
The action in Robot Fish builds gradually. First encounters are tutorials disguised as gameplay. By the midpoint, the game expects you to use everything it taught you, and it stops pulling punches.
Robot Fish Tips
- If there are multiple modes or difficulty levels, start on default. It is tuned for first-time players and gives you the experience the developer intended.
- Memorize the layout of the play area if the game reuses it. Spatial awareness is an advantage the game will not give you directly.
- If the game has a tutorial, do it once properly. Skipping it and then struggling with basics wastes more time than the tutorial ever would.
- Learn the difference between what costs you progress and what costs you time. Avoiding the first is always more important than optimizing the second.
- Prioritize ranged enemies first in mixed groups. Melee threats are easier to manage when nothing is shooting at you from across the room.
- Keep moving. Standing still in action games is usually the worst option, even when you are trying to aim carefully.
